Standing there still feeling dizzy and faint I am looking at the loan application realizing I probably could not afford the over $100 a monthly payment plan it outlined even if I managed to get approved. I canceled appointments I already had for problem teeth and left.
Horrible experience... I'm 32 and hadn't been to a dentist since I was a little kid. They told me I need Periodontal Surgery. I felt pressured to use Novocain even after I said I didn't want to. On the 4th or 5th injection deep on the inside edge of the bottom jaw it got to be too much, after about the 12th hard pound on the arm of the chair he stopped. I said I can't do this, ended up standing at the desk where I was told it would cost an additional $8,000 to put me to sleep, and I could apply for financing.
I still don't entirely understand what is going on in my mouth and what can be done and kind of wish I knew less, because I am now stressed out I was initially excited about the dentist as they told me I had the best dental insurance they had ever seen better than State Troopers and the copays for the initial 3 major things they wanted to do seemed easily within reach. I got myself excited that I might have a healthy mouth well into adulthood, but am now left wondering if I will still have my teeth when I'm 40, and on top of it ever since the initial cleaning my teeth have been hurting more than ever.
