DO NOT JOIN PLANET FITNESS. ESPECIALLY THIS ONE. I went in to cancel my Black Card membership after a few months because I was struggling to find time to go to the gym and I did not want to have to pay for something I am not using. The girl at the desk (Assistant Manager) cancelled my membership supposedly and said I had nothing to worry about. I would not be charged. I asked her for a confirmation of that and she said not to worry about it. BOY WAS SHE WRONG. So it turns out she never cancelled my membership because I got charged for my membership a week later. I called the club and they apologize and say that it will take two weeks to get my refund because they have to send it up to their New York office since it was never cancelled systematically in the first place. This all makes no sense but I agree and decide to wait. Needless to say, three weeks go by and I still have not gotten my refund so I email their corporate team. Butch, a territory manager, calls me and says he will take care of everything and the club never put anything through for a cancellation or a refund. We agree for him to refund me the $20 plus the $58 buyout fee I had to pay. Get this. I asked to downgrade my membership because I do not come often instead of cancelling it. They tell me I will have to pay a $58 buyout fee and a $30 downgrade charge. Who would do that? So I bit the bullet and paid the buyout fee. Anyway, Butch explains to me that he will send me a check and I will get it by that coming Friday. Well, you guessed it that Friday is now a week later and I still have no check. I have no idea if I will ever get my money back. I have no idea what to do at this point. I feel as though I need to call in some type of third party. DO NOT JOIN DO NOT JOIN!
I cancelled my membership in October 17. It's DECEMBER, and they are STILL deducting $19.99 from my account. No apology, nothing. They're the worst.
I give this location 10 stars. I am also a NYSC memeber at a facility in NJ. A universe of difference between the two. This Planet Fitness space is always clean, weights are racked, the staff are polite and engaging. The equipment is maintained and serviced. I observe the staff inspecting the equipment which I imagine is a daily practice since every time I am there I see it in progress. NYSC should take notice on how a gym should be maintained and pick up many pointers from the management team at Planet Fitness North Huntington. Any gym there will be equipment on the floor, but NYSC should be paying me to do their housekeeping as it seems in between sets I am continually re-racking weights, picking up off the floor the bars and other equipment back to their proper storage location at every visit. A rarity here and just out of courtesy and appreciation for this gym, I don't mind at all helping out. I could go on. Simply stated, if you are looking for a great gym driving 20 minutes or more would be worth it than going to any other.
Wonderful place. Been going here a little over a year. Very clean. I have friends that live closer to other locations and specifically come here bc it's so nice.
The nicest, cleanest, and able to get on any machine you want. Have many different areas to workout in, really nice 12 I think tanning beds, a bunch of massage chairs as well. Another thing I like a lot is some gyms when you workout you feel everyone is pointed art you staring but here the put some thought into the placement. I feel like I should get a free year membership for this review
